The Laver Cup’s organizers revealed on Tuesday that Stefanos Tsitsipas had pulled out due to an injury. Stefanos Tsitsipas will be replaced by backup Arthur Fils for Team Europe for the Laver Cup in Vancouver in 2023.
Laver Cup organizer announced this on Twitter: “Alternate Arthur Fils will replace Stefanos Tsitsipas on Team Europe for Laver Cup Vancouver 2023. Tsitsipas has withdrawn due to injury.”
A career-high No. 44 in the world ranking, the 19-year-old Fils has had an amazing year on the ATP Tour.

Currently the world no.5, Tsitsipas played his last match on the 17th of September when he surrendered to world no.113 Alex Molcan 7-6(6) 4-6 6-3 in the Rubber 4 of the Davis Cup (draw).
This season Tsitsipas achieved a 42-17 win-loss record. Stefanos conquered 1 title in Los Cabos. Tsitsipas got to the final at the Australian Open and Barcelona.
Tsitsipas has scheduled to play next in Beijing (China Open). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 28th of September.
