Toni Nadal appreciated Coco Gauff for denying her critics and demonstrating that she has a remarkably mature outlook for a 19-year-old. Gauff became the first American teenager since Serena Williams in 1999 to win the US Open during the recent tournament, earning her first Grand Slam victory.

Immediately following her victory at the US Open, Gauff talked about a special message to her haters and those who thought she was just a hype.

Toni Nadal expressed his thoughts about Coco Gauff during a conversation and said: “At the age of 15, she became the youngest player in history to reach the fourth round of Wimbledon. From that moment on, she had to endure the pressure, comparisons, and comments of some experts who said that, despite her very young age, she had already reached her peak. I’m glad that, with tenacity, work, and great education, last Saturday she managed to prove them wrong.”

He further added: “I don’t know her personally, but seeing her celebration full of emotion, she seems to me a very sensible athlete.”
