Former tennis legend praises Coco Gauff and her technique after her US Open win

Andy Roddick, a former tennis player, has praised Gauff's performance and her enthusiasm for the sport after her US Open win.

Gauff With Us Open Trophy

After Serena Williams retired from competitive tennis at the US Open one year ago, Gauff, who defeated Aryna Sabalenka in three sets on Saturday in Arthur Ashe Stadium, is now leading American women’s tennis.

Recently, Former tennis player Andy Roddick appreciated Gauff’s gameplay and her passion for the game. He stated her remarks about Gauff in a blog and said: “The difference is that she’s not going to stop at one. There are dominant forces in women’s tennis, but I don’t think three players are going to win 66 of the next however many Slams, so there’s a much better runway for her.”

He further added: “Venus and Serena were Coco’s idols, so to announce herself on the Grand Slam stage in the first year of the US Open after Serena’s retirement – a tournament where we saw Serena carry the public interest for a couple of decades – is pretty poetic.”
