Young Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz has received high praise from Serbia’s great tennis player, Novak Djokovic. The 20-year-old beat Djokovic in a thrilling five-set final to become the talk of the town after winning Wimbledon earlier this year.

Djokovic praised Alcaraz in an interview, saying that Alcaraz is the kind of player who would succeed in tennis and promote the game.

Djokovic stated his remarks about Alcaraz during a conversation and said: “Alcaraz is already at that level. He is on a good course but he has just started. It is only a few years that he has been playing at the top level and he is already a two-time Grand Slam winner, number one in the world.”

He further added: “It’s amazing to achieve so much so far, just at 19 or 20 years of age. He is the youngest number one in the world to finish number one at the end of the season. You can say he is a special guy, no doubt about it that he has an incredible career ahead of him if he stays healthy if he continues to maintain this level of tennis.”

The world No. 1 admired Alcaraz hoping that he would carry the tennis sport forward: “But he is one of the most impressive players I have faced in my life. No doubt, complete in every aspect and also a very nice guy, he has a great family, and a great team so he is a perfect ambassador of our sport so far and if he is going to continue like this, he is going to carry tennis for sure.”
