Roger Federer has been playing incredible tennis, as is evident from his 100th career ATP title in Dubai. After recently capping a phenomenal five-week hard-court run, beating John Isner to lift his 28th career Masters 1000 title in Miami, Federer said, “I felt like I was playing with a plan out there today and everything worked really well”.

Djokovic is a believer in Federer’s talent

Djokovic has great faith in Federer as the 37-year-old steps back onto the clay court. He said “He’s been playing great tennis lately, winning two out of his last three events (Dubai and Miami with an Indian Wells final against Thiem). It’s as good as it gets.”

Federer has won two of the three tournaments as well as 15 of the 16 matches that he’s played. This has pushed him up to the number 1 spot on the year-to-date Race to London. Federer stated that wins like these gave him a really good feeling and he wishes to continue his winning spree on the clay court as well. “Knowing I’ve had such a great start to the season on hard courts takes a lot of pressure off for the clay,” he said.

Djokovic reinstated his faith in Federer when he stated, “I don’t see any particular issues for him on this (slow) surface. He’s won all the big ones.” He went on to say, “He is who he is, I always expect the highest level from him – it’s always there.”
