Simona Halep’s four-year ban from playing tennis professionally prompted a response from Eugenie Bouchard. The Canadian tennis player was instructed to conceal her thoughts, though. After Halep’s test for Roxadustat at the 2022 US Open resulted in a provisional suspension from professional tennis, the ITIA (International Tennis Integrity Agency) determined that she had violated the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme.
Tuesday saw the announcement of Simona Halep’s four-year suspension by the ITIA (September 12). It gathered and examined 51 of her donated blood samples to obtain its conclusion. The Romanian star won’t be able to play until October 6, 2026, due to the suspension.
Genie was already very vocal in the recent past against players banned for doping when she shaded both Maria Sharapova and Dayana Yastremska.
Eugenie Bouchard revealed on X that she had been told not to comment on Halep’s issue. The 29-year-old made an oblique statement about the subject in his writing: “I was told not to tweet today.”
