Gauff Talks At The Us Open After Her Title Win

Coco Gauff, the new US Open champion, asked her supporters to stop singing a certain song that has been linked with the young American player.

In New York, Gauff’s supporters have played and sang along to O.T. Genasis’ album “CoCo,” which features the phrase ‘I’m in love with the Coco’. Gauff has requested that followers refrain from doing so because of the song’s true significance.

Although the singer has stated that he did not wish to glorify the drug through the hit record, which went viral in 2014, but rather to expose the realities of substance abuse, the song is plainly about the usage of cocaine.

Gauff laughed as she responded during the post-match press conference. She said: “No, I did not want them to play that because it does not mean my name. It means something else. But sometimes people in the crowd do say that, and I’m, like, yeah, that’s cute, but please no.”
