After an incredible comeback victory over Aryna Sabalenka on Saturday night, the kid raised her first Grand Slam trophy. And when a fan enquired about if she had debts to pay off, the world No. 6 quickly shut them off.

The sixth seed received £2.4 million in addition to winning her maiden Grand Slam, and she quickly thanked Billie Jean King for fighting for equitable prize money.

Gauff took to Instagram Live to connect with her followers the day after her historic achievement and answer some questions. Another important one concerned her prize money and how she planned to use it, as well as a strange comment about being in debt.

Gauff replied to a fan’s question: “Girl, bills. Nah, I’m just kidding. Bills really though to be honest, I’ve gotta pay my coaches because they deserve a good payday so I’ll pay my coaches.”
