After the latest U.S. Open, there was yet another reshuffling of the ATP rankings. Novak Djokovic is once again at the top of the rankings, followed by Carlos Alcaraz, who is now no. 2. Among the most notable movers, we need to mention the new American sensation, Ben Shelton, who is now ranked number 19.

Novak Djokovic in 2023
At the moment ranked no.1, Djokovic played his last match on the 10th of September when he beat world no.3 Daniil Medvedev 6-3 7-6(5) 6-3 in the final of the U.S. Open to win his 96th career title.
This season the Serbian owns a 45-5 win-loss record. The Serbian clinched 5 titles in 2023 in Adelaide, Australian Open, French Open, Cincinnati and U.S. Open. Djokovic was the runner-up in Wimbledon.
Carlos Alcaraz in 2023
Ranked world no.2, the Spaniard played his last match on the 8th of September when he was defeated by world no.3 Daniil Medvedev 7-6(3) 6-1 3-6 6-3 in the semifinal of the U.S. Open (draw).
This season Carlos has managed to achieve a composed 58-7 record. Alcaraz conquered 6 titles in 2023 in Buenos Aires, Indian Wells, Barcelona, Madrid, London and Wimbledon. Alcaraz got to the final in Rio de Janeiro and Cincinnati.
Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz clashed against each other 4 times. Their current record is 2-2. Previously, the last time they squared off, Novak Djokovic won 5-7 7-6(7) 7-6(4) in the final in Cincinnati (Western & Southern Open) on the 20th of August 2023.

Ben Shelton in 2023
Ranked world no.19 (career-high), Shelton played his last match on the 8th of September when he was overcome by world no.1 Novak Djokovic 6-3 6-2 7-6(4) in the semifinal in the U.S. Open (draw).
This season the American has a 19-23 record. Ben Shelton’s best achievement of the present year was reaching the semifinal in the Cagliari Challenger and at the U.S. Open.
