Serena vomits mid-match and then she trashes Bacsinszky

Only Serena

The world no.1 has been fighting against flu since the third round in Paris and yesterday she had probably one of her worst days during the tournament. Serena was already struggling during the pre-match warm-up to consistently halt the session for a persistent cough and she had to deal with something worst in the semifinal against Timea Bacsinszky.

Serena found herself 6-4 3-2 down and everything looked set for a formidable upset, but Serena is not one of the greatest ever by chance. After vomiting on court (that was a bit gross), Serena won 10 consecutive games to reach the final… in spectacular way. The final result was 4-6 6-3 6-0. Match Stats.

Serena: I need to see the doctor

The American was unable to show up at the post-match presser to release a statement “I’m so sorry I couldn’t make it to press this evening. I have been feeling unwell for a few days, and after this tough match against Timea, I needed to see the tournament doctor. I am proud to be back in the final here at Roland Garros, in a city that means so much to me, and am determined to be 100 percent ready for the final against Lucie on Saturday.”

The final

Serena will play Lucie Safarova in the final. Head to head is 8-0 for Serena, but if the American is not fit Safarova has a clean shot to win her first slam.
