Fabio Fognini had the best run of his great career last week in Monte Carlo where he won the title coming absolutely from nowhere.
In 2019 the Italian was struggling with injuries to register a 0-4 win-loss record on clay before starting his triumphant run in the Principality. Fognini managed to turn the table in Monaco to stun Alexander Zverev and Rafael Nadal before winning the tournament.

Fabio was visibly emotional during the ceremony to comment
“Thank you all, I was born near here, winning this tournament is extraordinary for me: I still can’t believe it. Well done to Lajovic: the first final is tough, keep working, it will come soon.
I thank my team, the family, Flavia [Pennetta], who supports me and she can stand me. I thank Alma and the physiotherapists. And … I don’t know what to say anymore … In fact, I have a special dedication to my mother who will have her birthday soon.”
