BARCELONA. Felix Auger Aliassime is about to start his run in Barcelona where he is seeded no.16.

Now world no.33, the young Canadian has finally managed to achieve a rank that makes him skip the painful qualifications to access the main draw.

The 18-year-old will play in Barcelona for the first time, and he is amazed at the line-up with the presence of 9 top20 players.

Auger Aliassime about the strong field in Barcelona

Felix commented

“The draw is so strong that it’s a bit like a  Masters 1000 event. I would love to get through the first rounds here.

Being seeded for the first time is a bit different and a nice feeling, but I can’t focus too much on results because I don’t have my marks here. It’s a new tournament for me

, so I just want to keep competing well and play my game.”
