Aneke Rune, the mother of Holger Rune, stated that her son will no longer be coached by Patrick Mouratoglou after Holger lost in the first round of the US Open. There were some reports that Aneke wasn’t completely satisfied that Patrick should work as her son’s coach.

Holgers’ mother said it during a conversation: “It was always planned as temporary. But now for Holger, it’s about getting the team and finding the team that will last for a long time, so that he can once again grow and develop his game, and therefore, he has chosen to create a team without Patrick.”

Mouratgolou, who has been a member of Rune’s coaching staff since the fourth quarter of 2022, expressed his opinion that Rune’s passion and energy on the court are qualities he personally admires, even as they collaborate to further utilize that passion.

Mouratgolou bid his farewell to Rune in a touching way and posted on his official Instagram account: “What a ride @holgerrune! In 9 months, we have experienced so much winning in Paris, playing finals in Monte Carlo and Rome, and winning in Stockholm and Munich…. From ATP No.30 to No.4. Unfortunately, every story has an end. I took the utmost pleasure with you and I will always be your supporter. All the team stays behind you. Good luck my friend.”

Holger Rune replied to his post: “Great learning! See you, man.”
