“I’m a zombie”- Ons Jabeur talks about struggling with flu at the US Open

Ons Jabeur has not experienced the strange disease that has spread at the 2023 US Open, according to other participants.

Ons Jabeur Talks In A Press Conference

Ons Jabeur is not one of the players who has been afflicted by a mysterious illness that has struck the 2023 US Open. The others have been afflicted with a stomach ailment of some sort, whereas the Tunisians just have the flu.

Emil Ruusuvuori was forced to withdraw from the competition due to sickness while Dominic Thiem and Christopher Eubanks appeared to be affected throughout their matches.

Ons Jabeur was questioned by the media on Thursday in New York following her victory over Linda Noskova in the second round about whether or not she suffered the same illness as other athletes. She explained: “Actually my stomach is fine. It’s not the stomach. I think I got a flu or something. I know some other players have stomach issues. Not me, thankfully.”

Jabeur further added: “I’m a zombie because I have the flu, otherwise… No, honestly I talked about this. I took a vacation after Wimbledon. I think that really helped me kind of take a second breath for the rest of the season.”
