There were some rumors that Holger Rune’s mother, Aneke, was not 100% convinced that Patrick Mouratoglou was coaching her son. After Holger lost as early as the first round of the US Open, as reported by BT, she confirmed that Holger would not be coached anymore by the Frenchman.
“It was always planned as temporary. But when there was success at the end of 2022, we continued in Australia. Unfortunately, without the same success in the otherwise good team with Lars Christensen and Patrick,’ said Aneke.
About the future, she added: “But now for Holger, it’s about getting the team and finding the team that will last for a long time, so that he can once again grow and develop his game, and therefore, he has chosen to create a team without Patrick.”
