Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev will face off in the quarterfinals of the Monte Carlo Masters on 19th April at 5 PM.

Novak Djokovic

The World No. 1 is in top form. This is the 9th time that Novak has managed to enter the quarter-final of Monte-Carlo Masters. He beat Taylor Fritz in straight sets 6-3 6-0 in his last match. Djokovic has now a good record in 2019 with 15 victories in just 18 tour-level encounters.

Djokovic is one of the top favourites at Monte Carlo having won the tournament twice in 2013 and 2015.

Daniil Medvedev

Medvedev is having a dream run in 2019 with an impressive 20-6 tour-level victory this season. Medvedev is looking in supreme form. He has already demolished the clay court specialist Joao Sousa 6-1 6-1. After that, he beat Radu Albot 6-1 6-2 and the sixth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece 6-2 1-6 6-4. After this encounter, the head to head between Medvedev and Tsitsipas is 4-0 for the Russian.

Medvedev has appeared in 8 tournaments in 2019 and has reached quarterfinals or better at four occasions which is pretty impressive for the 23-year-old Russian.

Medvedev has now reached the quarter-finals or better at four of his eight tournament appearances this year.

Head to Head Novak Djokovic vs. Daniil Medvedev

This is the first time that Djokovic will play on clay against Medvedev. The head to head between Djokovic and Medvedev is 3-0. He beat the Russian in the Australian Open in January 6-4 6-7 (5) 6-2 6-3. It is not going to be easy for Novak as Medvedev seems to be having a great tournament till now.

The encounter is most likely to be a hard fought one keeping in mind that Medvedev was one of the two players in the Australian Open who took a set from the World No. 1.
