Serena Williams’ husband lets go of his hatered towards tennis after tying the knot

Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams’ husband, wrote a school assignment talking about how much he didn’t like tennis. However, this isn’t the first time he openly spoke about the sport. During the 2018 IGNITION conference by Business Insider, he stated that he thought tennis was a joke, unlike other sports.

Alexis Ohanian is the co-founder of Reddit and Initialized Capital.

The entrepreneur participated in the Note to Self, a CBS series and wrote a letter to his former self. During the show, he left behind a note to himself, when he was in fourth grade. In the letter, he reminded himself to keep an open mind despite his opinions about tennis. Also, he informed his childhood self that he would get married, have a mango tree, and a daughter.

In November 2017, Ohanian married Serena Williams, 23-time Grand Slam champion. His opinions about the sport changed after meeting the tennis star. He couldn’t believe the fact that his wife was able to overcome rejection and get ready for her next match. According to Ohanian, the mental strength that athletes have, never gets highlighted in sports.

In his letter, the entrepreneur continued to provide words of confidence to his younger self. He reminded himself to believe in all his actions, as they will lead to a better future. The decision to not complete LSAT, made him realize that he wanted to be an entrepreneur, instead of a lawyer. It is good to see the entrepreneur change his mind about the sport as he is always on the courtside, supporting his wife.
