Felix Auger Aliassime and Alexander Zverev will face off in the 2nd round in Monte Carlo on Wednesday. They are scheduled to compete as the 2nd match on the Court Ranier III.
Auger Aliassime in Monte Carlo
Felix earned a wild card for the second consecutive year in the Principality. In 2018, the Canadian lost in the 1st round to Mischa Zverev 6-2 6-7 (4) 6-1 and this year he has the opportunity to play against his brother Sascha in the second round. Felix won a tough battle in the opening match against Juan Ignacio Londero 7-5 7-6 (5) after the Argentine saved 3 match points.
Alexander Zverev
Sascha will try to finally have a good run in Monte Carlo after a rather disappointing season. Zverev has a 9-5 win-loss record, and the only decent run he had in 2019 was reaching the final in Acapulco. The seed no.3 went to Marrakech to “warm-up” on clay, but eventually he lost in the second round to Jaume Munar.
Last year Sascha reached the semifinal in Monte Carlo before losing to Kei Nishikori 3-6 6-3 6-4.
