Dimitrov, Bouchard crash again

Grigor Dimitrov and Genie Bouchard are having a dreadful season. Both are considered among the most marketable athletes in the world, but they are really struggling to perform as expected.

Dimitrov

Grigor is definitely one of the most exciting players to watch and he is putting lots of effort in his preparation, but he is not getting what he “deserves”. The Bulgarian lost in straight sets against Jack Sock without even offering much resistance after losing the opening set. Sock won 7-6 (7) 6-2 6-3. Match Stats

Grigor failed to convert any of the 6 break points he had “When you don’t grab those moments it’s very tough to play. It doesn’t matter who you are playing. It’s tough for me to accept that two years in a row I’m not just losing I’m playing a bad match.”

Grigor has now a 18-11 win/loss record in 2015.

Bouchard

Genie is really struggling. The Canadian Beauty can’t get it right after partnering with renowned coach Sam Sumyk and after a mediocre start of the season she now crashes (badly) in the French Open 1st round against rising star Kristina Mladenovic. The result was a grim 6-4 6-4.

Genie struggled to give explanations about what is happening “About today, I mean, honestly, I don’t know what to say. I felt I was in the match. But tennis-wise, I still knew I was far off from how well I can play. But, you know, I was in there. It’s been kind of the same as how I have been feeling recently on the court. Just not like myself.

I have been trying to work on what’s been going wrong, and I feel like I’ve been making progress, so to still have matches like this is disappointing. But at the same time it’s just a tennis match – life is still good, everyone has highs and lows in their careers, and this is just a little bit of a low point for me.”

Genie has now a horrible 7-8 win loss record in this season. Her world no.6 spot will not hold.
