Felix Auger Aliassime and Juan Ignacio Londero will face off in the 1st round in Monte Carlo on Tuesday at 11 am in Court no.2.
Felix Auger Aliassime
The 18-year-old received a very well=deserved wild card for the main draw for the second consecutive year. Felix is having a fantastic season after he reached the final in Rio de Janeiro and the semifinal in Miami. Currently ranked no.33, he is the world no.12 in the Years to Date rankings, and he is extremely confident about his chances on clay (see why).
Last year in Monte Carlo, Felix lost in the 1st round to Mischa Zverev 6-2 6-74 6-1. If the young Canadian gets to the 2nd round in the Principality, he will face Mischa’s brother (Sascha) in a match that could become a classic in the years to come.
Juan Ignacio Londero
Ranked no.79, the Argentine earned his presence in the main draw through the qualifications after he defeated Romain Arneodo 6-0 6-4 and Thomas Fabbiano 6-4 6-1. Like many of his compatriots, the Argentine is a clay court specialist and this year he won his maiden title on the dirt in Cordoba.
