MONTE CARLO. Stefanos Tsitsipas can’t wait to start his clay court season.
The Greek had a fantastic start of his 2019 after the semifinal in Melbourne, the title in Marseille, and the final in Dubai. Things didn’t go that well for the Stefanos at the Sunshine Double where he looked pretty tired, and after regrouping, it’s time for him to go for it on the dirt.
Talking about how important it is for him to play on clay, Stefanos commented
“I am focussing on the clay season. It’s a part of the season that I adore. I like to play on clay that has a special place in my heart because it’s the surface that I started playing. I always feel nice when I step out in the dirt.”

Then Stefanos added
“[Monte Carlo] is a very special place to play tennis and I have pretty good memories from last year. Qualifying, beating some good opponents on my way to losing to David Goffin in the second round.”
Stefanos has a bye in the first round and we will face either Jeremy Chardy or Mikhail Kukushlin in his opening match.
