Amanda Anisimova emulates Serena Williams after maiden title

Amanda is the youngest American to win a WTA title after Serena

Amanda Anisimova has just won her maiden title in Bogota’ at 17 years and 6 months of age. The American will be ranked no.54 after this feat, and she is very close to the top20 in the years to date rankings.

It’s also interesting to notice that Amanda is the youngest American player to win a WTA title after Serena Wiliams triumphed in Indian Wells back in 1999.

Amanda is having a rather good start of the season after she reached the quarters in Auckland, the 4th round in Melbourne, and now she won the title in Bogota’.  The American has a 12-6 win-loss record in 2019 and an uncharacteristic 5-1 record on clay. Last year she decided not to play any match on the dirt (2018 stats).
