Iga Swiatek, ranked No. 1 in the world, and Jessica Pegula, the defending champion lead the entry list for the AKRON Guadalajara Open, a WTA 1000 event that starts on September 17.

In Guadalajara, seven of the Top 10 players on the Hologic WTA Tour are competing, including Maria Sakkari, Ons Jabeur, and Coco Gauff. After the US Open, it will be the inaugural WTA 1000 event.

Swiatek, who skipped the competition last fall, is expected to make her tournament debut in Guadalajara. After the 2021 WTA Finals, it would be Swiatek’s second participation in the Mexican city.
