Ohi, ohi.
There has been an ongoing discussion during the last few days if it was a good idea for the Roland Garros to follow the ATP rankings for its seeding. The doubts came from the fact that Rafael Nadal, the 9 time champion, would have been seeded no.7 (now seed no.6 as Raonic retired). So there could have been the scenario that Rafa would have played a top player already in the quarters … and you know what? He will play Djokovic!
The draw was done and there was no mercy for the King of Clay that in theory should beat Djokovic, Murray and Federer (if he can make it) to win this French Open. That seems to be improbable at least this year.
Federer
Roger is the overwhelming “winner” in this draw. In fact with Djokovic, Nadal, Murray, Ferrer on the other half of the draw, he is widely expected to reach at least the semifinals (vs. Nishikori?). The only question mark for Roger till the last 4 is Monfils (3rd round) that loves playing against the Maestro on clay in front of his home crowd.
