Iga Swiatek claims that she is “not going to regret a lot” that she lost the Cincinnati semifinal match to Coco Gauff, despite the fact that she thought Gauff gave a strong performance. Gauff defeated top-seeded Swiatek 7-6 (2) 3-6 6-4 in the Cincinnati semifinal.
Swiatek had previously defeated Gauff seven times in a row before their Cincinnati match, which marked their first setback to one another.
Swiatek stated her remarks during a conversation after her loss to Gauff and said: “Honestly, I’m not even going to kind of regret a lot because I’m happy that I’m going to have days off now. Coco, for sure played great tennis. I got to check, but I think her first serve was better than most of the matches we played against each other, faster.”
She further added: “She played more in, even though she’s risking with that speed. I thought, technically, I did everything right. I was kind of surprised that I missed a couple of shots. But it happens. She really played a good match, so, it wasn’t easy.”
