Simona Halep had a great run last year in Paris. The world no.3 reached her first slam final to lose after a passionate 3 setter against Maria Sharapova (6-4 6-7 (5) 6-4). That was a great disappointment, but now Simona knows she can achieve something important this year.
Halep: I am ready to go for the French Open
Simona commented “I was crying at that moment for a few minutes, and then I was smiling because I told myself it was my first Grand Slam final, and I have to be happy and smile, because I did everything on court. I played very good tennis, a very good level, and I’m really proud about these two weeks. They were incredible weeks here and it was an incredible tournament. It was an amazing feeling today.
“I’m feeling my game on clay right now. I like the clay. I’ve always liked clay, and I’ve always felt very confident on it. I’ve had some of the best memories of my career in Paris, too. My game is getting better day by day. I feel ready to go for the French Open.”
