Five weeks after the Spaniard’s five-set victory in their Wimbledon final, Alcaraz and Djokovic engaged in another thrilling match. The Serb triumphed this time after battling in the early stages of the play due to the high heat. Even though he was down a set and a break, Djokovic managed to force a decider despite appearing defeated.

In his address as the runner-up, Carlos Alcaraz shed tears as he congratulated Djokovic and thanked his staff and said: “It’s going to be tough for me to talk right now but I’ll try to do my best. First of all, I want to congratulate Novak once again.”

Carlos Alcaraz congratulated Djokovic on his official Twitter account by saying: ” We fought to the end but it wasn’t to be. Congratulations for the title @Djokernole.It was an incredible match. I hope you all enjoyed it too.”
