Even after retiring, Serena Williams’ former coach Rennae Stubbs keeps up with the sport closely. And she’s highlighted one thing about Alycia Parks’ serve style after watching the Cincinnati Masters.
Rennae Stubbs, the 41-year-old American coach, recently made a major confession on how she might have discovered an identical serve among the younger generation of tennis players who were taking up the sport.
While Alycia Parks and her doubles partner Taylor Townsend celebrated their victory after winning at Cincinnati, Stubbs compared herself to Serena Williams’ serve in her podcast show.
Stubbs expressed her remarks about Parks and said: “Her serve is, I’m telling you when they’re coming at me… Oh my god, it’s like Serena’s peak, that’s how good her serve is when it goes in. I’m telling you, she’s a potential top-10 player within the next 12 months. She’s got to keep, obviously, the body healthy. She’s a strong girl, really wants it, she has a great head on her shoulders.”
Stubbs further highlighted Parks’ talent, saying that it will enable her to compete strongly with other tennis players for the top WTA rankings.
