Berdych no.4, Djokovic over the rainbow

Last week we had the ATP1000 in Rome and some challengers (Bordeaux, Heilbronn, Samarkand and Seoul) that have reshuffled a bit the rankings.

Berdych

Tomas has reached a career high world no.4. The Czech hasn’t won any tournament this year, but he had lots of solid performances. In Rome he lost in the quarters against Federer, but that helped him to overtake Raonic (now world no.6) and be ranked no.4.

Djokovic

Nole is having a monstrous season. The world no.1 has won a slam (the Australian Open) and four ATP1000 in Indian Wells, Miami, Monte-Carlo and Rome. This allowed him to open up a 4610pts gap with world no.2 Roger Federer. Unreachable.

Kokkinakis, Zverev

Kokkinakis and Zverev will definitely be 2 of the most prominent players in the years to come. Thanasi has just won the challenger in Bordeaux to be ranked no.83 while Alexander has won the challenger in Heilbronn to be ranked no. 85. That’s a career high for both.
