After Novak Djokovic defeated Alexander Zverev in the Cincinnati semi-finals on Saturday, the Wimbledon final will be replicated in Cincinnati.

Djokovic Beats Zverev

The Western & Southern Open will feature a reprise of the Wimbledon final after Novak Djokovic defeated Alexander Zverev in the Cincinnati semi-finals on Saturday.

At the ATP Masters 1000 competition, the 36-year-old defeated Zverev 7-6(5), 7-5 in a baseline fight. Djokovic, the 23-time major champion, will next face off against World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz for the fourth time.

Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, saved a match point against Hubert Hurkacz on Saturday to advance to the Western & Southern Open finals where he will again face Djokovic.

Djokovic expressed his thoughts in the on-court interview and said: “In very few of Zverev’s service games where I had chances, I think I played well, particularly five-all after he broke my serve to stay in the match. I managed to bounce back, played a great game to break him again, and seal the deal in the 12th game of the second set.”

Djokovic further stated his happiness and excitement after winning the semi-final and said: “I’m pleased. I think there are a few things I could’ve done better, but overall it’s a straight-sets win against a great player in form, so I’m really happy.”
