During an interview with Le Figaro, Patrick Mouratoglou shared the experience of his working relations with Serena Williams. He started working with Serena in June 2012, just after she lost against Virginie Razzano in the first round of French Open. Patrick told about Serena’s asking him for two to three days of training at his academy, but they continued even after that, at the Wimbledon.

He recalled how Serena didn’t reply to his “hi” on the very first day of the training. He said if he hadn’t taken the initiative to talk, their working relationship would have been terrible. He helped her with the physical and technical plan in order to win the French Open once again.
Serena won all her clay-court matches in 2013. When asked about her character, Patrick tells that she is a strict lady. People who work with her are scared of her. She questions a lot. But she is not the same in her personal life, she is very cool and calm, but if it is about work, then she doesn’t even laugh.
It had been eight years of Patrick’s partnership with Serena which is considered as one of the most important and memorable partnerships viewed in terms of a professional journey. Serena is now preparing for her 24th Grand Slam title after Australian Open in 2017. She lost both her finals at the 2018 Wimbledon and US Open against Angelique Kerber and Naomi Osaka as she was making her post-maternity comeback.
