FRUSTRATING WTA FINALS. Ons Jabeur takes a dig at WTA over venue issues

Ons Jabeur is obviously irritated that the WTA Finals still do not have a host city, even though the tennis season is about two-thirds over.

Ons Jabeur Takes A Dig At Wta

Ons Jabeur is clearly upset that the WTA Finals still don’t have a host city with roughly two-thirds of the tennis season completed.

While some people were surprised by Elena Rybakina’s recent criticism of the WTA, calling its leadership weak, it’s not hard to recognize incompetence. Though the WTA Finals are only about 60 days away, the Tour has yet to reveal the venue.

That’s not much time, and Jabeur, who might be competing at the competition, expressed her frustration during the Cincinnati Masters in 2023. Although tennis wasn’t played in China during the pandemic and the aftermath of Peng Shuai, despite the event’s contractual ties to Shenzen, it was instead hosted by Guadalajara and Forth Worth.

Jabeur discussed this issue during a conversation and said: “It’s frustrating. I don’t know what’s happening & why we don’t know yet. We are waiting. I heard a few cities. I’m not sure where. Some say Saudi. I’m not sure. I wish they can take the decision as soon as possible so we would know where we want to go & the fans would know so we don’t have empty stadiums & we can promote the WTA Finals as soon as possible.”
