The Spanish team for the Davis Cup group stage, which takes place in Valencia from September 12–17, will be made up of Carlos Alcaraz, Davidovich, Bautista, and Granollers. In this initial round, Spain will compete against Serbia, the Czech Republic, and South Korea.
Spain is getting ready for the Davis Cup group stage with David Ferrer making his captain debut. David Ferrer shared his thoughts and explanations for selecting these four during the conversation.
He said it during a conversation: “Carlos has a very good dynamic and we’re talking about the number one in the world. Alejandro is also having a great season and is number two who can win all the games. Roberto is a player who is always among the best and offers many alternatives, like Marcel who can also teach the younger ones in doubles.”
The debut will take place on September 13 against the Czech Republic, followed by tests against Serbia on Friday, Serbia, and South Korea, before his participation concludes on September 17 against South Korea, where he must finish in the top two qualifiers in Group C to qualify for the Final 8, which Malaga will host from November 21 to 26.
Carlos Alcaraz from Murcia is able to bring back a strange scenario that occurred last year. The US Open final is set for September 10. If Spain advances to that stage, as they did in the previous tournament, the tennis star from Murcia would have just three days to be ready for the match against the Czech Republic.
The potential for another clash between Alcaraz and Djokovic is one of the great beginnings of this Davis Cup group round.

Carlos Alcaraz will take on the world no.20 Hubert Hurkacz in the semifinal on Saturday at 3:00 pm on CENTER COURT. Their record is 2-0 for Alcaraz.
Alcaraz has won 6 titles in 2023 in Buenos Aires, Indian Wells, Barcelona, Madrid, London and Wimbledon. Alcaraz got to the final in Rio de Janeiro (Rio Open).

Alcaraz will play next at the U.S. Open (U.S. Open). He will start to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 28th of August.
Roberto Bautista Agut in 2023
At the moment ranked no.37, Roberto played his last match on the 20th of July when he lost to world no.49 Pedro Cachin 7-6(4) 7-6(3) in the 2nd round in Gstaad (draw).
At present, during this year the Spaniard has achieved a composed 15-17 record. Roberto Bautista Agut’s most significant result of the current season was getting to the final in Adelaide.
He is also scheduled to play at the U.S. Open (U.S. Open) after Winston-Salem. The main draw will start on the 20th of August.
Carlos Alcaraz and Roberto Bautista Agut clashed against each other just twice. Their current record is 2-0 for Alcaraz. Previously, the last time they competed against each other, Carlos Alcaraz won 6-3 7-5 in the 3rd round in Barcelona (Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell) on the 20th of April 2023.

Ranked world no.23 (career-high), Davidovich Fokina played his last match on the 16th of August when he had to retire when playing against world no.2 Novak Djokovic in the 2nd round and the scoreline was 6-4 .
This season the Spaniard has a 27-21 match record. Alejandro Davidovich Fokina’s most significant result of the present season was getting to the semifinal in Toronto.
Marcel Granollers in 2023
LWLWLWWLLW Currently the world no.813, the Spaniard played his last match on the 6th of October 2019 when he lost to world no.168 Vasek Pospisil 7-5 7-6(2) in the qualifications in Shanghai (draw).
During this season the Spaniard has a 31-23 record.
