Djokovic: Nadal deserves a better seeding at the French Open

Rafael Nadal is not having one of his finest years and unfortunately he hasn’t managed to achieve too much even on his beloved surface: the clay.

Rafa is currently world no.7 and his rank is not expected to become any better after losing in the quarters in Rome where he reached the final last year. Of course Nadal seeded no.7 in Paris means that he might play top seeds such as Djokovic, Federer or Murray in the quarters. Does he deserve that after winning 9 French Open in the last 10 years? Not for Djokovic.

Djokovic: The Roland Garros should add a seed for Rafa

Nole is quite vocal on this argument (well… playing Rafa in the quarters wouldn’t be appealing for him). “This is the surface where he [Rafa] likes to play on. Let’s see how he bounces back at Roland Garros, the most successful tournament that he has ever played in his career. You can always expect him to play his best there in Paris. It’s where he peaks and everybody wants him to peak. He’s going to answer better. If you enter Roland Garros without a title behind you, it’s different mentally. He’s still one of the fittest guys on tour, he’s won Roland Garros nine times and he definitely deserves to be one of the favourites.

The Serb then added: “I think that the organizers of Roland Garros should add a seed for Rafael Nadal. Wimbledon does it. I do not see why they should not do it.”

Apparently the French Open organizers will stick to the ATP rankings.

ALWAYS RESPECT FOR THE KING OF CLAY
