Boris Becker has enormous experience as a tennis player and coach. The German legend won 6 slams, and he was instrumental for Novak Djokovic’s success.

The former world no.1 is also a great fan of Sascha Zverev, and he never loses the chance to have great words for the German.

During a recent interview with the Stuttgarter Zeitung, Boris commented

“Sascha became an ATP World Champion in 2018, a title that 99.9 percent of tennis players can only dream of.

I’m always amazed at what defines the German public as a success or failure. Look: Sascha is 21 years old and is in the top five in the world for the third year. He is by far the best player of his generation and has won three Masters tournaments.

He has only one “small problem,” and that’s Federer, Djokovic, and Nadal. He is not alone with that. That’s all good.”

Boris is right to say that Sascha is the best of his generation since the 21-year-old has already won 3 Master ATP1000 and the ATP Finals. However, the German is struggling to have deep runs in slams, and he was stopped only once by a Big3. That happened in Melbourne 2013 when he lost in 5 sets to Rafael Nadal after he was leading 2 sets to 1 (see stats

).

Zverev is currently in Marrakech where he accepted a wildcard to test his tennis on clay and get ready for the upcoming ATP1000 in Monte Carlo. Definitely, there is more glory to come for the German the near future.
