Iga Swiatek, the world’s top player, beat China’s Zheng Qinwen in the current Cincinnati Open, and she gave her coach credit for advising an outfit change after losing the first set.
After the match, Siwatek thanked her coach for asking her to change into new outfits after she lost the first set in her match. In the round of 16, Zheng was defeated by Swiatek, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1.
Swiatek talked in the post-match conference and said: “My coach told me months ago that after losing a set it might be a good idea to change outfits. I tried this time and it worked.”

Currently ranked no.1, the Pole has achieved an overall 52-8 record in 2023. Iga is now playing in Cincinnati where she overcame the world no.34 Danielle Rose Collins 6-1 6-0 and the world no.24 Qinwen Zheng 3-6 6-1 6-1.
Iga Swiatek will compete against the world no.10 Marketa Vondrousova in the quarter on Friday at 11:00 am on CENTER COURT. Their actual record is 1-0 for Swiatek.
