Coco Gauff graduated from high school in front of the Eiffel Tower the previous year, and she is currently studying once more to add “French speaker” to her growing list of achievements.
Well, perhaps not ‘hitting the books’, since the American recently admitted she’s been lacking the excitement to finish her lengthy reading list this summer.
She shared this during a conversation: “I’ve been in a reading slump since Wimbledon, to be honest. So I’m trying to figure that out. I have a lot of books that I’ve bought, but I haven’t read them. I’m behind on my reading goal for the year, so I don’t know if I’ve just kind of given up on it. I’ve just been focused on Duolingo lately.”
It has been a very slow process for Gauff to learn French in her own words. She recently welcomed fans in Montreal in both languages. In Paris, she pleased the crowd with a few French lines.
She told in an interview in funny style about her new learning: “I have my longest streak on Duolingo today, which is only 26 days. Yeah, it’s not that great. I’m really trying.”

WLWWWLWWLW Currently the world no.7, Coco has a 34-13 match record in 2023. Coco is participating in Cincinnati where she beat the world no.33 Mayar Sherif 6-2 6-2.
Coco Gauff will compete against the world no.50 Linda Noskova in the 3rd round on Thursday at 7:00 pm on CENTER COURT. Their actual head to head record is 1-0 for Gauff.
Coco conquered 2 titles in 2023 in Auckland and Washington.
The American won 4 titles in her career: 2 on hard courts, 1 on clay courts and 1 on indoor courts. (See the list of her titles)
Gauff has scheduled to play next at the U.S. Open (U.S. Open). She will start to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 28th of August.
