Federer beats Cuevas again

Roger Federer had no problems this time to beat Pablo Cuevas in Rome.

The Swiss Maestro had a rough ride against the Uruguayan in the Istanbul final (Roger won 6-3 7-6 after a tough tiebreak at 11). This time Federer  was relatively untroubled in Rome to win the match 7-6 (3) 6-4 without conceding a single break point scoring 71 points vs. Cuevas’ 59. Match Stats.

Federer: I am happy I won my first match

Roger was happy for his first win to comment “I’m happy I won my first round match. That was my focus, especially after last week and last year here, both matches I lost with match points. So I’m happy to get the victory tonight.”

Next. Vs. Anderson

Roger will play Kevin Anderson in the 3rd round. Head to head is 2-0 for Roger. If you consider that the South African is not really a clay court specialist, Federer is the favorite to get to the 4th round.
