Paige Spiranac, a golf influencer, recently criticized the PGA Tour and demanded that they permit players to wear shorts during competitive events.
Players found it difficult to even stand on the ground during the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship due to the extreme heat. On Friday, August 11, during the second round of the competition, the heat index rose to almost 111 degrees.
The social media personality Spiranac posted a video to her Twitter account in which she discussed St. Jude Championship champion Lucas Glover and how the heat affected him.
Spiranac posted: “The men on the PGA Tour should absolutely be able to wear shorts and the rule needs to change right now. Lucas Glover won for the second week in a row in a hot and humid Memphis. He also won for the worst documented case of the swamp a– that we have ever seen.”
Paige Spiranac elaborated on the PGA Tour’s custom of dressing in a suit and tie for official occasions.
