Carlos Alcaraz reaches important season milestone after beating Jordan Thompson in Cincinnati

Alcaraz just set a new record by winning his 50th match of the year after defeating Thompson in this match.

Alcaraz Wins At Cincinnati

After beating Jordan Thompson in his opening round at the Western Southern Open, Carlos Alcaraz has already won 50 matches this year. However, Alcaraz’s quick season run to the halfway point compares sharply with the typically poor play in the opening two sets of a rain-shortened encounter.

Right now, after winning this match against Thompson, Alcaraz has won the 50th match this year till now, setting up a new record.

After overcoming Novak Djokovic and claiming the Wimbledon title last month, Carlos Alcaraz earned increasing amounts of popularity.

In the post-match conference, he said: “It wasn’t an easy match but I found my best level at the end. We were waiting around all day to play the match and then when you step on the court you have to start with the rain, so it wasn’t easy. But you have to find a way to win these matches in this type of situation.”
