Easy stuff for Garbine Muguruza in Monterrey where she won the final after Vika Azarenka had to withdraw because of a leg injury. Garbine was leading 6-1 3-1 when Vika had to stop as she was clearly struggling with her right leg.

After the final, Garbine commented
“I’m very happy with this week. It’s a great feeling to come back and defend a title. It’s never easy. I’m loving Monterrey a lot and the crowd is supporting me all the time.”
Talking to the media, Garbine added
“Every title is sweet. The ending was a little strange, [she] was injured, but it’s a special feeling, winning last year and now this year I did have tough opponents, this year’s draw was the best and, well, I played my best tennis.”
This is Muguruza’s 7th career title. azarenka can be happy by her run.
