Many tennis supporters were thrilled to see Jannik Sinner win his maiden Masters 1000 championship at the Canadian Open.
On Sunday in Toronto, Sinner defeated Alex de Minaur 6-4, 6-1 to win the tournament’s title. Prior to this, in Miami in 2021 and 2023, the 21-year-old had lost two Masters 1000 tournament matches. Sinner made sure he wouldn’t lose the championship match against de Minaur again this time. In order to win the match, he was able to break the Australian’s serve five times.
With his victory at the Canadian Masters 1000, Jannik Sinner became the tournament’s youngest champion since 2017’s 20-year-old Alexander Zverev.
Sinner talked post-match conference and said: “It means a lot. It is a great result. This result makes us feel good, stronger, and hungry to work even harder in the future. I am proud of how I handled the situation. Every opponent here is tough to play against. I felt the pressure, but I think I handled it very well.”

WWWWWWWWWW Ranked no.8 (career-high), Sinner played his last match on the 13th of August when he defeated world no.18 Alex De Minaur 6-4 6-1 in the final in Toronto to win his 8th career title.
This season Sinner achieved an overall 41-11 win-loss record. Sinner has won 2 titles in 2023 in Montpellier and Toronto. Sinner reached the final in Rotterdam and Miami.
