The American is in hot form in Charleston, and she reached the quarters without dropping a single set on the way after defeating Madison Brengle 6-1 6-3, Aliona Bolsova 6-3 7-6 (2), and Kaia Kanepi 7-6 (1) 6-1. After a not great run at the Sunshine Double where Collins lost in the 3rd round in both events (Indian Wells and Miami), the 25-year-old is finally having another good run in South Carolina after her fantastic Australian Open when in January she got to the semifinals playing great tennis.
Monica Puig in Charleston
Ranked no.63, Monica is also having an outstanding week at the VOLVO CAR OPEN after she got to the quarters also without dropping a single set after defeating Sara Errani 6-0 6-1, Sofia Kenin 6-4 6-4, and Aryna Sabalenka 6-2 7-5.
