Carlos Alcaraz was seen on live television making jokes with Alejandro Davidovich Fokina before losing at the Canadian Open. In a behind-the-scenes discussion, the top player handed his countryman the middle finger.
Alcaraz lost to Tommy Paul while Davidovich Fokina proceeded to the semifinal. It was his first loss in two months and the end of a winning streak of 14 games.
In Toronto, Alcaraz was observed having fun just hours before losing in the quarterfinal round. While the 20-year-old was warming up on an exercise bike, Davidovich Fokina passed by and knocked on the window while giving Alcaraz the middle finger.
Davidovich Fokina kept walking while Alcaraz laughed and returned the gesture.
