Carlos Alcaraz was defended by Nick Kyrgios for tossing his racquet after losing at the Canadian Open in Toronto out of anger. According to Kyrgios, Alcaraz will be “carrying the tennis load for the next decade” and that is why it is great that he showed that “he is human.”
Tommy Paul upset Alcaraz in the ATP Masters 1000 competition quarterfinals this week in Toronto with scores of 6-3, 4-6, and 6-3. Alcaraz lost to the American at the Canadian Open twice in a row; the first time was in three sets in Montreal in 2022.
The 20-year-old displayed his frustration by tossing his racquet at his chair after double-faulting to lose the opening set. Kyrgios defended the 20-year-old after seeing footage of Alcaraz tossing his racket online with the remark, “No code violations for boy wonder.”
Kyrgios showed up on his Twitter account and said: “Who the f**k cares. The dude is gonna be carrying the tennis load for the next decade. Good on him for showing he is human. Frustrated not playing up to standards. Also, let’s start giving codes (code violations) to umpires.”

WLWWWWWWWW Ranked no.1, the Spaniard played his last match on the 11th of August when he lost to world no.14 Tommy Paul 6-3 4-6 6-3 in the quarter in Toronto (draw).
This season Alcaraz achieved a 49-5 record. Carlos has won 6 titles in 2023 in Buenos Aires, Indian Wells, Barcelona, Madrid, London and Wimbledon. Alcaraz got to the final in Rio de Janeiro.
He is also scheduled to play at the U.S. Open (U.S. Open) after Cincinnati. The main draw will start on the 13th of August.

Now ranked no.92, Kyrgios played his last match on the 13th of June when he surrendered to world no.91 Yibing Wu 7-5 6-3 in the 1st round in Stuttgart (draw).
This year Kyrgios has achieved a compiled 0-1 match record.
Kyrgios is scheduled to play next in Cincinnati (Western & Southern Open). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 13th of August.
