Roger Federer had to swallow a huge upset from Nick Kyrgios in Madrid, but (of course) the Maestro doesn’t hold a grudge against the exciting Australian.
During a recent interview Roger gave his interpretation of Nick’s game stressing their similarities.
Federer: We both have lots of possibilities
According to Roger both have lots of weapons to play, but that can be a disadvantage when you talk about shot selection “I think both of us probably also needed some time when we were younger to figure out our games.
We have a lot of possibilities in terms of shot selection. To hit the right shot at the right time is something that for us comes a bit more difficult than a steady baseliner who is just happy to rally. We prefer to do other things out there. That’s why [Nick] might take a few more years to really crack the code.”
