Nadal: I haven’t lost my game

It’s just about confidence… this is what Rafael Nadal needs to be back at his very best.

The King of Clay had a “miserable” season so far (miserable for his galactic standards). Rafa has already lost 7 times this year (not normal for him at this point of the season) and he has won “only” 1 tournament on clay (Buenos Aires) without being “even” able to reach the finals in the other 3 on the dirt (Rio de Janeiro, Monte-Carlo and Barcelona).

Rafa has started his campaign in Madrid with a solid opener against Johnson (6-4 6-3) and he still thinks that a good future is ahead for him.

“I know things are going to work out,” said Rafa. “I haven’t lost my game. I just need to build my confidence and it’ll work out. I know that either sooner or later it will come back. That’s what I want to think. I’m convinced about it. It’s matter of time. Let’s see when it happens.”

Nadal will play Bolelli in the Madrid 3rd round. Let’s see what he can do.
