Stefanos Tsitsipas only wants one thing for himself and his girlfriend Paula Badosa: to top their respective positions of being No. 1 and possibly even hold those positions together.

Badosa was formerly ranked No. 2 in the world on the WTA Tour, whilst Tsitsipas’ highest position has been No. 3. After winning his first tournament of the year last week in Los Cabos, the Greek is now ranked fourth in the world.

Tsitsipas recently made public that his major objective is to surpass his girlfriend’s career-best position and take over as World No. 1. Badosa, on the other hand, is ranked No. 45 in the world as a result of an injury-hit season and mixed overall performance.

Tsitsipas made these remarks while laughing: My goals are to surpass Paula’s best ranking, which is World No. 2. And to get better than that I’m. The good thing about us is that we get competitive in those things in a healthy way, so I hope I get to equal it or even better (it).”

He further elaborated on his wish for his girlfriend and said: “I honestly don’t even mind if she beats me. I want her to beat me. That means she’s getting better, and I want her to have an incredible career and reach World No. 1.”
