Although praising Carlos Alcaraz and calling him the best player in the world, Jannik Sinner claims he is pursuing his own career path.
The Italian number one, who was there during the draw, acknowledged the greatness of his great rival Alcaraz and expressed his complete admiration for him. Sinner then acknowledged that he is closely watching the journey which inspires him to develop and evolve.
Sinner spoke highly of Alcaraz by saying: “One of the best, if not the best player in the world. He is number one and he has won Wimbledon, which is a great confidence booster. I’m going my own way, my way. We are training very well. Every match I’ve played against him has been very good, at a high level, and I think we’ve shown that.”
Sinner further added these remarks: “I think at the moment he is one step ahead, obviously he has already won a lot. I’m just trying to have this meeting over and over again and we’ll see how it goes.”

Ranked no.1, Alcaraz played his last match on the 16th of July when he defeated world no.2 Novak Djokovic 1-6 7-6(6) 6-1 3-6 6-4 in the final in Wimbledon to win his 12th career title.
