STEFANOS TSITSIPAS. I had to suffer, but it was good

Stefanos Tsitsipas admits that it would have been easier to be part of a bigger federation.

Stefanos Tsitsipas about hardship

Stefanos Tsitsipas will be ranked either no.9 or 8 from Monday to consolidate his top10 status.

Everything looks great for the 20-year-old, but he has never hidden the fact that the beginning of his career wasn’t very easy and he had also to face hardship.

I had to suffer. TSITSIPAS

During a recent interview with The Telegraph, the Greek admitted that being part of a bigger federation like the British one would have been much easier for him.

Stefanos commented

“It’s more that they have opportunities. It’s very comfortable [in Britain] and they can provide for players compared to a federation like the Greek one which doesn’t have much. If I had been part of a federation like that it would definitely have made my life easier.”

… but hardship was good for strengthening.

Then the Greek added

“But then, having passed through all of this shit in my life kind of changed my mindset and made me mentally stronger. I appreciate it more, knowing that I had to suffer so much to get there.

If I was part of such a big federation to provide everything for me, trips and so on, it would just be too simple. Everything is there for you, everything is cooked for you.”

Stefanos is about to kick start his clay court season as he will compete in the upcoming ATP1000 in Monte Carlo.
